Hyperlocal stories, told for the globe.

What I like to cover

People and public institutions

The everyday workings of institutions that teach, treat and govern millions. Recent work includes 180 Years of Teaching and Healing for Sir J.J. Hospital and the Dil Se Seedhi Baat cancer conversation series for ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre.

Hyperlocal civic stories

Road infrastructure, water supply, demolitions and municipal accountability in Mumbai, reported from the ground. A record built at Hindustan Times and continued as an independent civic journalist.

Climate adaptation and environment

Slow, human stories of adaptation in coastal and peri-urban South Asia: water access, heat, housing, fishing villages and the people adjusting to all of it.

Gender, identity, labour

Human-led narratives on gender, identity and labour, from the Peabody-winning Transnational for Vice World News to first-person women's stories sourced across India for ZEE TV's Kahaani Har Ghar Ki.

Currently developing

Currently developing a long-form documentary on a community in Madhya Pradesh whose story deserves a wider audience. In active development and open to conversations with commissioning editors, grantmakers and mission-aligned partners. For a private outline, please email [email protected].

About

I am a ground reporter and multimedia producer. My work is made by going to the story in person, meeting the people it concerns, and letting the ground shape how it is told. I work on public institutions, gender, hyperlocal civic stories, climate adaptation, and the human stories inside large systems. Field-produced for Vice World News, Google, CBS and ZEE. Peabody and GLAAD recognised, Ramnath Goenka Awardee. Available for commissions.

Thirteen plus years across documentary, broadcast and print. Directed and produced 180 Years of Teaching and Healing for the Government of Maharashtra, produced the India episode of Vice World News' Peabody-winning Transnational, and built a pan-India journalist network for ZEE TV's Kahaani Har Ghar Ki. Earlier, a reporter at Hindustan Times Mumbai, where I also ran citizen campaigns for the Mumbai edition, covering civic affairs and the BMC.

Alongside production work, I hold an active AI practice across the editorial pipeline: research, transcription, translation, archive recovery and review, applied inside my own productions, with a clear line on where AI helps human-story journalism and where it does not belong.
